Getting started

ShipLoop reads TestFlight screenshots and crashes, turns them into cards, opens a pull request, and uploads a fresh test build. You test and press Done. No SDK.

01

Create an App Store Connect API key

In App Store Connect go to Users and Access → Integrations → Team Keys and create a key.

  • Use the App Manager role. That is enough to read TestFlight feedback and upload builds.
  • Developer works for feedback only. Do not use Admin.
  • Copy the Issuer ID (top of the Integrations page) and the Key ID.
  • Download the .p8 once. Apple will not show it again.
02

Connect it in ShipLoop

Sign in and open onboarding. Paste the Issuer ID and Key ID, then upload the .p8. Verify the key, pick the apps to connect, and continue.

The private key is sent over TLS and envelope-encrypted on arrival with a per-account data key. Only ciphertext is stored. Jobs decrypt it in memory for a few seconds to talk to Apple, then wipe it. The agent never sees the key. Every unwrap is written to your audit log. Revoke in one click from Settings → Security. More on the controls: How we protect your key.

03

Pick your app, board, and column rules

After the key verifies, choose which iOS app ShipLoop should watch. Each app gets a loop board with five columns:

  • TODO — new TestFlight feedback lands here with the screenshot or crash and device info.
  • IN PROGRESS — moving a card here starts the agent on a branch.
  • TEST — a processed PR build (for example Test 1.0 (44)) moves the card here and can notify testers.
  • DONE — you tested it. ShipLoop merges when CI is green.
  • MERGED — the PR is on main and the card can close.

Edit rules on the Workflow page: which events enter a column, and what happens when you drag a card. Start with the defaults; they match the 90-second loop on the homepage.

04

Connect Trello or Linear

Authorize Trello or Linear from onboarding or Settings. Map each ShipLoop column to a list or status so cards stay in sync — a tester comment, an agent run, and a Done press all show up in the tracker you already use.

Pick one tracker per app. You can change the mapping later without losing cards.

05

CI and TestFlight builds

Point the app at Xcode Cloud or GitHub Actions. ShipLoop does not store signing certificates — signing stays on Apple. When a PR is ready we allocate the next build number (one higher than the latest on App Store Connect or in ShipLoop), kick the workflow, and wait until TestFlight marks the build processed.

Internal testers get that build. The card moves to TEST so you can install it and press Done.

FAQ

Do I need an SDK in my app?
No. ShipLoop reads TestFlight feedback that testers already send from the App Store app.
Which API key role should I pick?
App Manager. Developer can read feedback but cannot upload builds. Skip Admin.
Can the agent see my App Store Connect key?
No. Jobs unwrap the key in memory to talk to Apple. The agent sandbox never receives it.
I lost the .p8 file. What now?
Create a new Team key in App Store Connect, then rotate it in Settings → Security. Revoking the old key destroys its data key.
Can I use both Trello and Linear?
One tracker per app. You can switch later; existing cards stay on the loop board.
How do build numbers work?
The next number is one higher than the maximum already used on App Store Connect or in ShipLoop, so TestFlight never collides.
What is Studio?
A higher task quota and more apps. There is no public price — use Contact us and we will reply by email.
